A family’s passion for playing, coaching, and understanding the game—now in a new digital scorekeeping experience.
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
The player behind the numbers.
Vince Benander founded BGSD in 1981. After an injury brought his baseball career to an end, he turned to softball—and brought a lifelong fascination with statistics along with him.
A mathematician, college professor, and high school teacher, Vince also used statistics throughout his coaching career, which included a high school state championship in basketball. His interest was always practical: understanding performance and helping people get more from the game.
Over the decades, BGSD has served hundreds of leagues from Ohio to New York to California. Skeep carries that experience forward for BGSD leagues and a wider community of organizers, scorers, and players.
